Earth Magick: Hermetic Prophecies — Version 3 is the newest evolution of Daniel Martin Diaz’s tarot deck. For the first time, the deck now comes bundled with a newly written 85-page companion booklet, together in a beautiful presentation box. The booklet explores the symbolism and divinatory meaning of every card and includes an original essay written by Diaz about the ideas, influences, and philosophy behind Earth Magick. This new edition brings the complete 80-card deck and booklet together as one complete set.
The booklet is something people have been requesting for years. Each card is accompanied by an explanation of its imagery, symbols, and divinatory meaning, offering a deeper understanding of the ideas woven throughout the deck. The 85-page booklet also explores the larger symbolic language behind Earth Magick, giving both newcomers and longtime users a deeper way to understand and work with the cards.
This color edition reimagines Earth Magick through a palette inspired by Renaissance illuminated manuscripts, religious paintings, and early esoteric imagery. Each card was colorized by artist Trina Hines. After seeing her work, Diaz reached out to Hines to collaborate on bringing color to the original imagery. Her intuitive use of cerulean blues, crimson reds, warm ambers, glowing ochres, and earthy tones gives the deck an entirely new atmosphere while remaining faithful to Diaz’s original drawings.
Diaz wanted this edition to carry the elegance, mystery, and reverence of an earlier age. The result feels like an object that might have belonged to a Renaissance astrologer, alchemist, or mystic, with imagery rooted in alchemy, astronomy, sacred geometry, mysticism, nature, and the esoteric traditions.
Rather than simply adding color to the original deck, this edition was conceived as its own divinatory object. Like its sibling, The Amber Set, the Color Version possesses its own visual language, atmosphere, and energy.
At the heart of Earth Magick is the idea that symbols can communicate across time. The cards draw from ancient systems of knowledge while creating a personal visual mythology in which the earthly and cosmic, scientific and spiritual, visible and invisible are continually connected.
