Codex: The Art of Divination is a culmination of artwork created by Daniel Martin Diaz over the past several years. Rather than emerging from a single, predetermined concept, this deck formed through accumulation, images shaped by different moments, states of mind, and lines of inquiry. As the pieces came together, the collection began to reveal itself as something cohesive, discovered rather than designed. It became a codex.

Historically, a codex is a bound system of knowledge, fragments gathered from multiple sources and held in dialogue. This deck functions in the same way. Symbols, archetypes, and concepts do not stand alone as fixed answers; they exist relationally. Cards such as Omen, Ascension, Cosmos, VVitcher, and Alignment operate as a living system, where meaning arises through overlap, contrast, and intuitive connection. In this way, the deck recalls the practice of tarot readers drawing from multiple decks at once, allowing symbols to deepen through layering.

The visual language of the Codex draws from symbolic knowledge, occult traditions, and scientific infographics. Anatomy, cosmology, metaphysics, and esoteric diagrams appear in restrained color and subtle tonal shifts. Mystery is not decorative—it is deliberate. Each image is designed to hold space for contemplation rather than instruction, inviting reflection without imposing conclusions.

This deck is offered as a tool for divination, not prediction. Divination listens. It reflects. It responds to where you are now. The included 52-page guidebook provides supportive interpretations, not authority. Over time, you may find yourself relying on it less, as your intuitive relationship with the deck deepens. With repeated use, the cards will speak differently, revealing new symbols, personal meanings, and insights as your life evolves.

Codex: The Art of Divination is meant to be lived with, handled, returned to, and rediscovered. A system of gathered knowledge. A companion rather than a directive. A quiet archive of intuition, offering insight and resonance for many years to come.
